Russian Institute to Hold 9th Northern Policy Forum
The Russian Institute (Director: Pyo Sang-yong) held the 8th Northern Policy Forum on December 23 (Fri).
The forum is the eighth of its kind held after the Russian Institute was selected as the agency to carry out the Northern Policy Forum project by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy following last year. The 8th forum was held in the form of a round table with experts from the field to explore Korea's external strategy during the global order change of the complex war that began in earnest with the Ukrainian war.
Professor Sung Won-yong (Incheon University) announced at the Roundtable the 'Reorganization of the Eurasian Strategy in the Era of the Global Complex Transformation.' Professor Shin Bum-sik (Seoul National University) then announced on the 'Ukraine War and International Situation Changes.' Professor Lee Tae-rim (National Institute of Foreign Affairs and Security) presented 'Russia's Strategic Perspective on U.S.-China Competition'. Kim Sang-hwan, head of the Korea Technology Venture Foundation's center, discussed 'global technology hegemony competition during the transition period and ways to cooperate with Korea and Russia.'
Through discussions on Korea's foreign policy in preparation for the transformation of the world order and changes in the Eurasian region, the 8th forum presented a general direction for diplomatic relations and exchanges with Russia and Eurasian countries.
