Russian Debating Competitions

In order to nurture the next-generation experts on Russia in a more efficient way, the education of the Russian language, which is the basis of training younger students, should pursue fostering their actual command of the practical Russian language. Unlike the past language education, which stressed grammar and reading, the contemporary language education methodology is more focused on the actual use of the language. Since a debate championship requires the parties to instantly understand the opponent’s words and make a logical response under a competitive setting, it is a very effective way to develop one’s language skills. Hence, we will hold the Russian language debate championship to motivate the students and give them the opportunity to cultivate their actual Russian communication skills. Such debate championship, we believe, will also be useful in enhancing public interest in the Russian language and expanding the base of the Russian language in Korean society. more
