On December 20, 2022 (Tuesday), the Russian Institute HK+ Research Project Group conducted the ‘2022 Humanities Walk, Visiting Humanities Special Lecture’ at Suwon Foreign Language High School in Suwon, Gyeonggi-do.
At this event, which was held as part of the Humanities Korea Plus (HK+) <Regional Humanities Center> project, Sungkyunkwan University Russian Language and Literature Professor Kim Sang-hyun gave a lecture on “The Grotesque and Fantasy of St. . In this special lecture, which looked at St. Petersburg, a symbolic city that represents Russian history and culture, from the perspective of literary works, Professor Kim Sang-hyun explained in detail the culture of Russia, including St. Petersburg, through 100 pages of various photographic materials and videos. The subjects were about 100 students in the first and second year of the Russian language department and the English and Russian language department of Suwon Foreign Language High School.
The students attended the lecture with a serious attitude and showed great interest in Russia by asking various questions. In particular, all the students read Gogol's works in advance and attended the lecture, which was evaluated as being more effective.
