The Russian Institute holds an international academic conference jointly with the Economic Research Institute under the theme of Eurasia's Great Transformation and Korea's Strategy.
The Russian Institute (Director: Professor Pyo Sang-yong) is carrying out the Northern Policy Forum among bilateral industrial cooperation projects promoted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. The project is organized by the Russian Research Institute to form a regular communication channel and contribute to the creation of continuous and visible results in northern policy by discovering cooperative demands and priorities with the Northern Economic Area.
In response, the Russian Institute held an international academic conference in which Central Asian and Russian experts discussed changes and pending issues in the cooperative environment on the economy, trade, industry, and energy of major northern economies. Starting with the Ukrainian war, the Eurasian Great Transition was triggered at the meeting, and in-depth discussions were held on the response of Eurasian countries and Korea's response strategies.
As the ninth event of the Northern Policy Forum, an international academic conference was held under the theme of 'Eurasia's Great Transformation and Korea's Strategy.' The international conference, which was held at the Minerva Complex International Conference Room of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, was held jointly with the Russian Academy of Sciences under the theme of 'Russia's Economic Policy and Korea's Strategy,' 'International Order Change and Central Asian Economy, Korea's Strategy,' and 'Russia's Foreign and Domestic Economic Policy.' ’
Following the opening speech by Pyo Sang-yong, the head of the Russian Institute of Economics, Mikhail Golovnin, delivered a congratulatory speech at the opening ceremony, and in-depth discussions were held on the transition of the Eurasian order to the Ukrainian war and Russian economic policy. In addition, Korea's response to the new Eurasian order and the great transformation that is formed regardless of the end of the Ukrainian war was also discussed. In the second session, there was a topic presentation on the strategies of Central Asian countries in response to changes in the international order and Korea's tasks. Finally, in the third session with the Russian Economic Research Institute, scholars from the Russian Economic Research Institute presented and discussed Russia's foreign and domestic economic policies following the great transformation of the Eurasian order. Through this joint international academic conference, its significance can be found in that meaningful discussions have been conducted on the direction of Korea's northern policy and its tasks.
