The 14th National Undergraduate (Graduate) Student Russian Language Debate Contest Ceremony Held
The Russian Studies Institute of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (Director Pyo Sang-yong) held the 14th National University (Graduate School) Russian Debate Competition Awards Ceremony at the Russian Embassy in Korea on Thursday, June 6, 2024. The awards ceremony was attended by Ambassador Georgy Zinoviev of the Russian Federation to Korea, Deputy Ambassador Guyenkov, Director of the Russian Agency for Foreign Cooperation, Kolganov, Professor Emeritus Kim Hyeon-taek of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, and Research Fellow Jeon Mi-ra of the Russian Studies Institute. In particular, since June 6 is the ‘Russian Language Day’ designated by the Russian government, the awards ceremony held on that day was a meaningful event that reflected on the meaning of learning Russian and further motivated the winners to learn.
The Russian Studies Institute of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and the Russian Embassy in Korea have been co-hosting the Russian Debate Competition every year since 2011 to increase social interest in learning Russian and the Russian language and to discover talented individuals. The winners of the debate competition are awarded a scholarship from the Russian Embassy in Korea and a plaque in the name of the President of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and the Russian Embassy in Korea.
