Russian Institute to Hold 5th New Northern Policy Forum

The Russian Institute (Director: Pyo Sang-yong) held the 5th New Northern Policy Forum on April 27 (Wed).
This forum is the sixth forum held by the Russian Research Institute as an organization to carry out the New Northern Policy Forum project among the bilateral industrial cooperation projects of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in 2022. The 5th forum is about the ongoing Ukrainian war, and four Eurasian experts presented 'response to supply chain disruptions caused by the Ukrainian war and participation in post-war recovery projects' and shared opinions with officials from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

At the forum, Kim Ik-joon (CEO of Ecovis) presented a brief introduction to Ecovis Co., Ltd. and changes in the supply chain before and after the Ukraine crisis. Professor Lee Sang-joon (Kookmin University) then presented the implications for the reconstruction of Ukraine and Korea after the war. Lee Dae-sik, head of planning (Yeo Si-jae) presented the West's post-war Ukraine reconstruction project and implications, and Park Ji-won, senior researcher (KOTRA), presented Korea's supply chain problems and avoidance strategies caused by the Ukraine crisis.
The 5th forum is meaningful in that it discussed various and in-depth details on how to bypass or avoid supply chain disruptions caused by the Ukraine war, discuss the possibility of Korea's participation in Ukraine reconstruction projects, and provide policy suggestions and requests for cooperation.
