The Institute of Russian Studies (Director: Professor Choi Woo-Ik) held a public lecture and book fair event at 6 p.m. on Friday, October 31, at the Seocho-gu Banpo Public Library to celebrate the 20th Humanities Week hosted by the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF). The lecture was titled “Bringing Life to the Stage: The Emergence and Legacy of Anton Chekhov.” Each year, the Institute participates in the Humanities Week program as part of the Humanities Korea Plus (HK+) initiative. This year’s event was organized in conjunction with the eight-week Banpo Citizens’ Lecture Series, held every Friday from October 17 to December 5.
At the book fair on October 31 at 6 p.m., publications released by the Institute of Russian Studies, books from the Banpo Library collection, and commemorative gifts for Humanities Week provided by the NRF were distributed to attendees. Dr. Yun Seo-hyun, who delivered the lecture, along with approximately 50 registered participants, ensured that all attendees received books and souvenirs.
