On May 29, at the international forum commemorating the first anniversary of the journal RIO, the Institute of Russian Studies signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea–Russia Business Council (KRBC) and the RIO Institute. The signing ceremony was attended by Prof. Woo-Ik Choi, Director of the Institute of Russian Studies, Mr. Jong-Ho Park, President of KRBC, and Mr. Dae-Sik Lee, Director of the RIO Institute. The three institutions pledged to promote mutual development and cooperation.
KRBC, a non-profit organization under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, works to enhance Korea–Russia exchanges in the private sector by hosting academic and business events and providing business consultation. The RIO Institute publishes the monthly journal RIO, which introduces Russian history and culture while presenting balanced perspectives on issues surrounding Russia through domestic and international experts.
Going forward, the three institutions will strengthen their partnership by promoting academic and human exchanges, developing educational and cultural content, sharing research materials, and utilizing facilities and equipment collaboratively. The MOU is expected to generate synergy in Russian studies, academia, and private-sector cooperation, while laying the foundation for sustainable collaboration.
