On June 13, 2025, the Institute of Russian Studies (Director:  Woo-Ik Choi) co-hosted an academic conference with the Baltic States Research Project Team at the Minerva Complex International Conference Hall, Seoul Campus. The conference, held under the theme 'Economic Security and Identity Politics in the Baltic States,' featured presentations by HK Research Professors Seung-Do Ra and Mi-Ra Jeon, and Senior Researcher Yoo-Jung Kim.

Two panels were organized:

'Innovation Growth and Logistics/Energy in the Baltic States'

'Myth and Cinema in the Baltic States'

The first panel explored strategies for innovation and growth, de-Russification policies, and prospects for the logistics industry, while the second panel examined Latvian mythology, Estonian cinema, and the unique characteristics of the Baltic States as EU members.

This conference highlighted Hankuk University of Foreign Studies’s long-standing commitment to advancing the study of the Baltic region, an area with relatively limited research foundations in Korea, and presented new possibilities for interdisciplinary regional studies.
